New Year Resolution

Happy New Year 2004, everyone....!

Heyaaahhh!!Ahem, so now it's time for the New Year Resolutions, I guess... have you made them yet, friends?

Enlisted below are my New Year Resolutions which I wish to achieve on this year 2004:
  • Follow the Yearly Bible Reading Plan, in order to finish reading the entire Bible by year-end.
  • Live as a new man, free from the bonds of sin, throw away the old man in the past year.
  • Know Him more in personal terms, preferrably to be able to hear His voice audibly this year.
  • Join a local prayer team which have been introduced by a friend, and pray for the country.

    Difficult? Definitely. But if I never try, then I will never be able to achieve. If it turns out that I can do it, I know that it is not by my strength alone, but it is God that has managed me to achieve that far. If I am never willing to go that far, then how will I be able to find Him? As it is said that we must "go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it. (Mat 7:13)". I do not wish to be one that only seek the wide and enjoyable gate, but I wish to be one that seek the narrow gate, which is hard to pass through, but in the other side of that gate, there is eternal light, eternal life in Heaven with God...

    Fear Is The Mind KillerAnxious as I might be, there is still some fear and doubt inside me. Fear that I will not find Him even if I read the whole Bible for this year, fear about living fully free from sin (just imagine the challenge it pose), fear about the attacks and threats from the enemy should I live deeper with God and fear about what I will face if I join the prayer team. But when I face my fear, now I know what I have to do, that is to read Isaiah 41:10 and quote some words of Paul Atreides from Frank Herbert's DUNE...

    I must not fear
    Fear is the mind-killer
    Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration
    I will face my fear
    I will permit it to pass over me and through me
    And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path
    Where the fear is gone there will be nothing
    Only I will remain
